Write the invite, print the numbers, and let the TV keep track of the steals on the night. Nothing you type on this page leaves it.

Send the invite

Fill in the fields first, then edit the text as much as you like. Changing a field writes it fresh.

Before the party

  • Print the number slips, or write numbers on scraps of paper.
  • Find a hat or a bowl to draw them from.
  • Decide the house rules: the steal cap, and whether Number 1 gets a final swap. The rules list the usual ones.
  • Something everyone can see: a TV, a laptop plugged into one, or an iPad propped on the table. No screen at all? One phone can run the night.
  • Charge your phone. It's the only one that has to tap.
  • A bin bag for the wrapping paper.

On the night

  1. Open stalefish.tv on the TV. It shows a code.
  2. Scan the code with your phone and pick Stolen Gifts. Set the house rules and how many people are playing.
  3. Everyone draws a number. The TV calls “Number 1, you're up.”
  4. Tap OPEN or STEAL on your phone as each person goes. UNDO fixes a wrong tap. The TV keeps the rest.
